General.
The work procedure as given herein are to be applied both for structural as well as non-structural works in reinforced concrete. They have to be followed up in line with the guidelines as given in the references above.
Material.
All materilas used are shall be conformed with specification included bar size, kind of product and other requirement.
Cutting of materials.
Both plain bars and deformed bars have to be cut cold deformation only without any additional heating, using a manual or mechanic cutting device. Devices which may have a negative effect on the tensile strength of the rebars are not permitted to be used.
Bending or Reinforcement.
A bent and restraightened reinforcement bar may not be bent again within 60 cm of teh previous bend location. Reinforcement hooks have to be designed and constructed as per attached drawings. End hooks of longitudinal bars can either be of 180 deg or 135 degree.
Further required dimensions are stipulated in the attached drawings. Hooks of stirrups should be 135 deg. With end lengths of at least 6 diameter or 50 mm whichever is the largest value.
The roundings habe to have a minimum internal diameter of 5 dia or 5 dp as per attached drawings in which (d) is diameter of as palin bar and (dp) is the diameter of a deformed bar. Reinforcement shall be bent to the shapes and sizes as shown on the bar bending schedules drawing.
Installation or Fixing Bar work.
Reinforcement bars have to be clean, free from dirt, fat, rust, oil and other materials which may have a negative impact on friction between concrete and rebars. The rebars have to be installed prior to concretting in such a way that the concrete pouring does not result in shifting of position of the rebars. The overlapping coonection of rebars have to extent to at least 40 times the bar's diamter. The reinforcement shall be fixed as per the approved work drawings.
Bars shall be fixed with the wire 9 soft anncaled type) securely fastened at each intersection. Space blocks shall be securely fixed to the rebras and sizing shall correspond to give the correct concret cover. Block are to be made from sand cement miratr with strength minimal equivalent to the parent concrete. Space for slab reinforcement shall be installed at a minimum of one for every square meter.
