General.

The  work  procedure   as  given  herein are  to  be applied  for  the  handling  of  the  excavation  to  the  extent  necessary   to  conform  with  the  finished  grades, cross sections  and  dimensions  as  shown  on  the  drawing.  All excavated  ares  shall be  finished  to  an  even  surface  and  compacted  to  the  density  of the  surrounding  material.  Water  filled  ares shall be dewatered  before  excavation commences.

 

Method of  excavation.

Normally, there  are  two  kind of  excavation work   method, namely (1)  By manual   for  narrow  area, and  (2)   by  mechanical method (using the exacvator  machine)  especially  for  excavation with big volume and   deep   conditions.

 

Excavation  for  fondation.

 

 Foundation  shall be  excavated  to  teh  depths  and  for  the full lenghts  and  widths  as  required  per  drawings.  Roots,  stones and  other  debris  accuring  within  the  excavated  areas  shall be  removed  and  made  good  with  available  earth  to  pressure  a  solid  foundation.  All loose  material  shall be  removed  before  finally  levelling  the  excavation.

 

Over  excavation  shall be  filled  with  local  earth  material  from  site  in layers  not  more  than  300 mm thick  and  compacted  to a density  equal to  the  original   foundation  material.

 

Exacavtion  work more  than  1.7 m deep will be  added with  shoring  by  use  of  temporary timber  constructions.  The  timbering  or  shoring  shall be  properly  constructed  to  wthstand  earth  pressure  or  any  other  pressure  occuring  during  the  construction.

 

Disposal  of  local  surplus material.

 

Unsuitable  material  suac  as  roots, trees, hedges,  waste  vegetations  and  debris  are  to  be  removed from  site.  Suitable  materials will to be  extent  as  possible  be  used  in  site  for  backfilling  material, regrading  and  landscaping  of  ather  parts  of  the  site.
